The Digital Airport Index is an objective study that was initiated in 2016 through collecting data about more than 50 European airports. The results have shown the maturity level of digital integration at these airports. With the presentation of the Index, Mijksenaar’s intention is to create seamless experiences for passengers at airports worldwide.
After the successful launch of the Digital Airport Index Europe in March, ’17, Mijksenaar launched the North America and South America Index in January ’18. In March ’18 the 2017 Digital Airport Index is completed with the launch of Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
For the 2019 edition of the Digital Airport Index, the measurement criteria have been revised and made more granular. By updating the scoring system, Mijksenaar made sure that the resulting scores stay meaningful and distinctive in a rapidly maturing market.
The 2019 Index compares and rates the digital passenger services using the following criteria:
Connectivity, Communication, Consistency and Commerce.
The data for the 2019 Digital Airport Indexes was gathered in spring of 2019.
